Systems Engineer - Stamford Office

We are seeking an individual who is enthusiastic, hard working, able to manage a diverse workload and problem-solve a wide range of technical issues. You will need a minimum of 5+ years experience installing, upgrading, and maintaining Microsoft Windows networks. Novell NetWare and Linux/UNIX network experience are a plus. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge of general computer software (Microsoft Office, various antivirus products, tape backup, remote management tools, general utilities, etc.) and operating systems (Windows Server 2003/2000, Windows XP/Vista, Windows NT/9x, NetWare)and operating systems (Windows 9x, Windows NT/2000, Windows XP, NetWare). You must be able to quickly learn/troubleshoot new software "on the spot" as dictated by a client’s environment. You will also be responsible for other support activities including managing routers, network switches, firewall configurations, remote and network management software; as well as providing pre-sales technical support to the sales staff by providing estimating, quoting and project management support. Any experience in designing, installing/maintaining routers, switches and firewalls using Cisco routers, switches, PIX firewalls; any industry certifications (CNE,CNA,MCSE,MCPS), or any background in MAC OS and/or Unix would be considered a plus!

Ideal candidates will have CS/MIS or industry related degrees. You must be self-motivated to start projects and be comfortable in an independent environment. At the same time, you must have good communication skills and be a collaborative member of our team. You will be expected to take full personal responsibility for the quality of your work. Responsible for the support of the sales, marketing and engineering departments of our Stamford, CT business unit.
